IT Today: Essential Technology News (November 2025)
If October 2025 had a buzzword in technology, it would have been “applied AI.” Tech giants continue to pump strategic investments into artificial intelligence, and global events are increasingly focused on discussions about how to use AI in practical ways to transform business and government.
The complexity of today’s technological landscape brings with it commensurate challenges. We have witnessed serious vulnerabilities and disruptions—the recent example of the major AWS service outage demonstrating how dependent and, at times, fragile the global digital infrastructure has become.
In such an unpredictable environment, staying up to date is not just an option, but a necessity. We therefore invite you to stay with us as we review the most important IT news from the penultimate edition of this year.
AI News
The GenAI paradox: why 95% of projects fail
An MIT study shows that 95% of GenAI pilot projects fail because their managers avoid “friction” (human and technical resistance). Companies prefer generic tools that appear effective but are fragile and have little impact, despite widespread adoption. Real success requires deep integration and acceptance of friction as a driver for adaptation, innovation, and ROI.
AI and introspection: Claude shows early signs of self-awareness
Good news for fans of the AGI concept: Anthropic research has discovered surprising, albeit limited, signs that Claude models are capable of introspection (monitoring their own internal states). Using a technique called “concept injection,” advanced models (Opus 4 and 4.1) were sometimes able to identify artificially inserted “thoughts.” Although this ability is still in its infancy, it suggests a new path toward more transparent AIs.
OpenAI launches “Character Cameos” for Sora 2
The new “Character Cameos” feature for Sora 2 allows users to generate completely new characters, such as monsters or heroes, or upload their own videos (e.g., of pets) to turn them into recurring characters in video creations.

The secrets of Google Discover: how the algorithm works
As SEO specialists know, Google Discover is a kind of equivalent to the Loch Ness monster: a phenomenon governed by rules that are very difficult to understand. An SEJ article reveals that Discover prioritizes “trusted sources.” The content of web pages is evaluated through a six-step process based on click quality (time spent on the site) and repeat visits. New content gets an initial boost, but its subsequent success depends on a good CTR, authority on the subject, and high-quality images (over 1200px).
AI control in Google Ads: the “Text Guidelines” feature is launched
Google Ads is implementing the new “Text Guidelines” feature, which allows advertisers to set campaign-level rules, giving them greater control over AI-generated text. The goal is to guide artificial intelligence to respect brand tone, language preferences, and compliance requirements, ensuring message consistency.
The “Group 7” trend was created by singer Sophia James as an experiment to test the TikTok algorithm and promote her song “So Unfair.” She posted a series of clips, and the seventh went viral, turning fans who interacted with it into an exclusive “club.” The move was praised for its marketing performance and culminated in real-life fan meetings.
Cybersecurity News
AWS outage: lessons on SLAs and resilience
The recent Amazon Web Services outage, which brought the internet to a standstill, highlights our dependence on the cloud. In light of this incident, some sources warn that SLAs (service level agreements) only offer minimal credits, not compensation for actual business losses, and that legal recourse is difficult. The solution lies in resilience: multi-cloud architectures, true redundancy, and regular testing of disaster recovery plans.
OpenAI launches Aardvark, an AI “researcher” for security
OpenAI has launched Aardvark, a GPT-5-based AI agent designed to act as a security researcher. It continuously analyzes source code to discover vulnerabilities, assess exploitability, and propose patches. Now available in private beta, Aardvark helps developers proactively fix security breaches.
BYOD cybersecurity risks can extend to personal vehicles
Researchers have demonstrated how a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) attack can be carried out using a car as a vector. Using inexpensive gadgets, they blocked a car’s Bluetooth signal, tricking the driver into connecting their phone to a FlipperZero device. Once the phone was compromised, the attackers pivoted to the corporate network when the employee entered the office, accessing the servers.
Programming News
Cursor 2.0: programming with multiple AI agents
Cursor 2.0, a new interface for programmers, was launched recently. Its main function is to allow developers to work with multiple AI agents in parallel. This approach facilitates the management of coding tasks, enabling efficient and simultaneous collaboration with various artificial intelligence models.
InfoQ 2025 Report: Platform Engineering and AI agents redefine DevOps
The InfoQ 2025 Report shows that platform engineering has become a strategic priority in organizations, focusing on the developer experience. AI agents for cloud engineering are the top innovation of the moment, promising advanced automation. At the same time, FinOps focuses on cost optimization, and hybrid and multi-cloud strategies are becoming the new benchmark.
n8n: the open-source alternative to Zapier for automation
n8n is a new open-source and self-hostable automation tool, considered a free alternative to Zapier. It allows anyone to create complex workflows using a visual editor, without writing code. n8n can be used to connect hundreds of applications, from GitHub to AI, to automate repetitive tasks.
UI/UX Design News
Canva launches a “creative operating system” and offers the Affinity suite for free
Canva has announced its biggest launch yet, a “Creative Operating System.” It combines a visual suite (with Video 2.0, Forms, Email Design) and a new AI model specialized in design. The platform also includes “Canva Grow” for marketing. The big surprise is that the professional Affinity suite is now completely free for all users.
Google launches “Google Sans Code,” a font created for programmers
Google Sans Code is a new font based on Google Sans, but optimized for programmers. It prioritizes readability by increasing the internal spaces of letters and clearly differentiating similar characters (l/1, O/0). Innovatively, the italic style (for comments) is inspired by 16th-century Italian handwriting, visually separating comments from functional code.
Instagram’s UX lesson: how to communicate a redesign correctly
A UX Planet article praises the way Instagram communicated its recent navigation update. Instead of forcing the change, they informed users in advance, explained the benefits, and gave them control to accept or decline the new interface (“Update now” / “Not now”). This transparent approach, followed by contextual guidance, reduced frustration and built trust.

This avalanche of innovations, from AI agents (Aardvark) that secure our code to platforms (Cursor 2.0, Canva OS) that accelerate our creation, promises an era of unprecedented efficiency. However, it is precisely this global race for AI domination that is fueling a new toxic work culture, originating in Silicon Valley, dubbed “0-0-2” (working from midnight to midnight, with only 2 hours of rest on weekends). This impossible ethic imposes an implicit pressure for “voluntary devotion.” It is a culture in which workers are expected to work 80-100 hours per week, and leaving before midnight is equivalent to not being taken “seriously.”
The human cost of this veritable warlike mobilization is a burnout crisis and the systematic exclusion of those with family responsibilities or those who cannot afford to live in the expensive hubs of Silicon Valley. As we focus on the resilience of our systems, managing outages (AWS) or risks (BYOD), the real vulnerability becomes human. In the face of an industry that demands everything, work-life balance is no longer an option but a critical necessity. Setting firm personal boundaries becomes the only viable strategy to survive this addiction to speed and ensure long-term innovation, not just short-term exhaustion.
With best wishes for a motivating and healthy work style, see you soon!
